ROI and units, without shortcuts

HUB uses units as a relative stake size from 1 to 10. A unit is not currency and does not reveal how much money someone used.

Calculating net results

At decimal odds, a winning pick returns net units = stake × (odds − 1). A losing pick loses the full stake. Every qualifying loss is included.

The ROI formula is: net units ÷ total staked units × 100. It measures the result relative to all recorded stakes in the selected set.

A worked example

Three picks each use 2 units. One wins at odds of 2.00 for +2 units. Two lose for −2 units each. Net units are 2 − 2 − 2 = −2, total stake is 6 units, and ROI is −2 ÷ 6 × 100 = −33.3%.

This is why ROI cannot be assessed from winners alone. Odds shape the winning return, while each loss reduces the net result.

Compare cautiously

The same ROI can come from very different odds, staking patterns and sample sizes. Check the period and number of settled picks before comparing members.

  • 1–10 units express relative size, not money or a suggested amount.
  • High ROI in a small sample can be random variation.
  • Positive historical ROI does not guarantee a gain.
